Voices of rational dissent are becoming more and more marginalized every day, in a free world that seems increasingly bent on the self-destructive path toward autocracy. Those of us for whom this descent is patently obvious have moved along the continuum from oblivious to irritated to outraged to afraid and then to numb and complacent. There we remained until the 2008 US Presidential campaign when we were shocked into action through the blatant and insulting collusion of government and media. Healthy skepticism has been replaced by idolatry, reason by blind faith and wisdom by bland platitude. The rational have been Driven Underground. The rational who want to force people to open their eyes are The Driven Underground.
Being rational unfortunately also means knowing we cannot stem the tide, but can only hope to slow it for long enough to gather provisions and gold!
